David Jarvis

Founder, Chief Executive Officer

David has spent nearly a decade working as an infrastructure engineer at companies like Airbnb and CircleCI. He worked on the core banking system at API banking startup Standard Treasury, acquired by Silicon Valley Bank in 2015. Along with Allen, he is the author of Learning ClojureScript.

Allen Rohner

Founder, Chief Technology Officer

Allen is a founder and former CTO of CircleCI. He has advised prominent financial technology firms on their internal technology development and helped Funding Circle stress-test a new version of its internal ledger technology. Software written by Allen has been downloaded over 200,000 times.

Maria Campbell

Chief Operating Officer

Maria has pioneered inclusive people-led strategies for fintech unicorns such as GoCardless and Monzo. A trailblazer in every sense, she enjoys building structures and systems from scratch in high-growth, tech-first companies. Her career sweet spot is helping startups establish the right cultural and operational environment to successfully grow and scale.

Adam Moulson

Chief Commercial Officer

Adam is a founder and former Chief Commercial Officer of Form3, which provides critical real-time payments infrastructure to banks and fintechs such as Lloyds, Nationwide, and Square. Prior to starting Form3, he was a country manager at SWIFT.

Laura Hauser

VP Marketing

Laura has led global marketing teams for B2B companies with highly technical products in the software development and IT space. She specialises in turning disruptive, complex technology into approachable solutions and has helped brands like Atlassian, Adaptavist, and NextRoll grow market share.

James Trunk

VP Engineering

James has 20 years of experience building successful digital products and high performing teams. He has held previous roles as a Product Owner, CTO, and Head of Engineering, and has advised leadership teams and coached C-level executives.

Chris Forlano

VP Product

Chris brings more than 25 years’ experience in digital banking, payments, and fintech. He has held a number of product and technology leadership roles in large financial institutions including HSBC, NatWest, and Visa as well as several early-stage start-ups. At HSBC, he was a founding member of the digital business banking transformation for 1.1 million SME customers in the UK and Hong Kong.

Alex Nash

MLRO

Alex was the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for Cashplus Bank. He has worked in financial crime prevention roles for 14 years, and his expertise spans first-line detection - including leading on the design and delivery of transaction monitoring systems – through to developing and implementing prevention strategies and control frameworks.

Our board includes renowned leaders in the financial services and banking sectors, as well as top-tier investors with a proven track record of guiding tech unicorns to success. Founders David and Allen also sit on the board as executive directors, completing the team that sets our strategy and safeguards our culture.

John Weguelin

Chair of the Board

John was the CEO of Zenith Bank from 2013 to 2017 and prior to that he was the CEO of the European Islamic Investment Bank. He spent 19 years at Bank of America and was COO of its European subsidiary. John chairs our board.

Amy Kirk

Senior independent director

Amy has held executive positions in lending, risk and operations at Wonga, OneSavings Bank and Bank of America. Prior to moving to the UK, she was Director of Credit for MBNA America. Amy also sits on the Boards of Monzo and FCMB Bank (UK) Ltd.

Naomi Trickey

Independent director

Naomi has 25 years of experience across people, commercial, operational and product roles, and has spent more than ten years in leadership roles for Software as a Service organisations. She has extensive experience managing rapid scale-ups. Naomi chairs our People and Governance Committee.

Douglas MacLennan

Independent director

Douglas has ten years of senior management experience in the UK’s regulated banking sector. He was the CRO and Director of Crown Agents Bank. Prior to that, he was CFO for Crown Agents Bank and Director for the Northern Trust Ireland Pension Plan. Douglas chairs our Risk Committee.

Stephen is an entrepreneur and investor with 20 years experience founding, funding, running, advising and investing in technology businesses. As co-founder and managing partner at Notion Capital, Europe’s leading venture capital firm focused on cloud computing and Software as a Service, Stephen helps leading tech companies develop and execute winning market strategies.

Tom Mendoza

Investor director

Tom is a venture capital partner at EQT Ventures. He started his career in hedge funds at ING and PSAM. In 2010, he founded Tep, the mobile internet service for travellers. His EQT Ventures portfolio includes Cytora, Banking Circle, and Token.

Tom Wilson

Board observer

Tom is a partner at Seedcamp where he sources and select companies for early stage investment and works closely with founders building market-leading companies. Prior to this, he worked for a large international law firm in London, where he specialised in VC fundraising and M&A.
